University Accreditation Rankings

University Accreditation Rankings
A prospective student who is serious about higher education would rarely choose an institution without accreditation. In the U.S., accreditation often accounts for a school’s standing in high standards for education. Accreditation seems important especially to online schools that vie for distance education students. But, few rankings are based solely upon this factor, which can include regional, institutionalize and specialized accreditations. For more information about accreditation, visit the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

OEDb Online College Ranking by Years Accredited
Methodology: OEDb ranks only online schools, and this measurement includes accreditation. For these rankings, they included online colleges accredited by institutional accrediting agencies officially recognized by the Office of Postsecondary Education. For each college, they looked at how long it maintained its accreditation status, as a longer period of accreditation may imply more name recognition, prestige and competence.
